Turnkey Product Bundles and In-Field Upgrade Program Ease the Transition to VoIP and Helps Future Proof Investments in Speech
Vail Systems, a leading provider of SIP based IP telephony platform technology, together with Paraxip Technologies, a leading provider of software solutions enabling the transparent transition from traditional to IP telephony, and CYGCOM Integrated Technologies, a value added channel distributor of speech integration products and services for converged voice and data solutions, announced today the availability of a full suite of comprehensive telephony connectivity bundles, based on Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) communications building blocks, for Microsoft Speech Server 2004. The turnkey product bundles provide application developers worldwide with the ability to write sophisticated speech applications for the converged network. The bundles range from 4-port analog connectivity to 4 T1/E1 digital connectivity to the PSTN and all include an embedded SIP media gateway, preventing the need for a costly, external media gateway appliance.
The turnkey bundles are composed of:
-- Microsoft Speech Server 2004
-- Vail Systems SIP Telephony Interface Manager (TIM)
-- Paraxip Gateway software
-- Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) communications building blocks
-- UNYCOM Servers (Intel(R) Telephony Certified)
-- CYGCOM eSupport
"Today's speech solutions increasingly require VoIP support, while still enabling connectivity to legacy switches, PBXs and ACDs," said Joe Carey, Vice President of Marketing at Vail Systems. "We are excited to join Paraxip and CYGCOM in providing Microsoft Speech Server customers a comprehensive solution that addresses both traditional telephony requirements using industry-leading Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) communications building blocks and the Vail SIP TIM for VoIP connectivity."
"Even for customers who have no immediate requirement for VoIP, packaging a SIP media gateway with Microsoft Speech Server is a perfect way to future-proof a speech application" said Serge Forest, president and CEO at Paraxip. "Using the Paraxip Gateway software with Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) communications building blocks, customers receive the full benefits and flexibility of the leading computer telephony products including the widest coverage of telephony protocols and call control capabilities, through standard SIP/RTP interfaces. This is truly the best of both worlds."
"This program is in perfect alignment with our core objective, that is to improve our customers' time-to-market by bundling innovative solution components into a fully configured and supported turkey voice platform" said Jeff Valliant, president and CEO at CYGCOM. "We believe that the market is ready for converged communication speech applications and that Microsoft, Intel, Vail Systems and Paraxip are the right providers to enable this transition."
The companies further announced a program to enable the upgrade of customers who have existing Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) boards to a converged communication architecture using the Paraxip Gateway software and the Vail SIP TIM. This "in-field" upgrade program is unique in the industry. CYGCOM also announced the availability of a 4-port Starter Kit, which includes an Intel(R) Dialogic(R) D4PCIU4S board, designed to help customers move quickly, and at low cost, toward this architecture.
"This program demonstrates once again the commitment from Intel and the communications ecosystem to enable innovative, converged communication solutions," said Tim Moynihan, director of marketing, Modular Communications Platform Division, Intel Corporation.. "This bundle offers industry-leading telecom boards from Intel for an embedded SIP gateway in the Microsoft platform and an upgrade path for customers deploying traditional TDM solutions who will embrace converged architectures in the future."
"We are pleased to see that Microsoft Speech Server customers can now leverage our highly extensible platform for building VoIP based speech solutions using this integrated offering" said Piyush Dogra, Director of Business Development and Strategic Alliances at Microsoft. "This turnkey product bundle will enable customers to rapidly develop new and exciting VoIP based speech applications while providing seamless integration into their existing traditional telephony infrastructure"
