Arel Communications and Software Extends Market Reach to Southeast Asia and the Far East Through New Collaboration Agreement With SingTel

SingTel Strengthens Its Satellite IP Learn Service for Use in Real-Time E-Learning and Video Conferencing with Arel Spotlight Conferencing Application Suite
Arel Communications and Software (NASDAQ: ARLC), technology leader in universal voice, video and data Web communication for interactive conferencing and collaboration, today announced an agreement with Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel), Asia's leading provider of telecommunications services, to offer Arel Spotlight(TM) conferencing and e-learning solutions to enterprise clients across Asia.
SingTel IP Learn service will host Arel Spotlight as the application, which provides interactive distance learning (IDL) via its advanced satellite-based DVB-IP platform. SingTel's new satellite services are ideally suited for the provision of professional IP-based services such as e-Learning, tele-medicine, videoconferencing, video streaming and other broadband services. Arel Spotlight, offered over SingTel IP Learn service, will allow clients to provide distance education to remote locations through video and voice, as well as media-rich content and data collaboration.

In Singapore, SingTel operates has three four satellite earth stations providing direct transmissions to over 80 countries. Apart from being among the world's largest investors in satellite systems, SingTel has also launched its own satellite, ST-1, in 1998. The ST-1 is one of the most powerful satellites in the region with a footprint covering most of Asia.

Spotlight Meeting is designed for interactive work groups as well as one-to-one meetings. Spotlight Campus is a feature-rich solution covering all aspects of distance training, and Spotlight Webinar, designed for video-enabled live Web-based seminars for knowledge delivery to large audiences. Each application provides integrated live audio, video, rich-media content and data collaboration along with its own administrative environment.
