First Americans Selects Wincor Nixdorf's StoreForward ESL Solution; New York Grocer Selects StoreForward ESL for Its Price, Superior Technology and Benefits to Customers
Posted on: Tuesday, 24 May 2005, 12:00 CDT
Wincor Nixdorf, one of the world's leading suppliers of IT solutions for the banking and retail industries, today announced that First Americans, a grocer in Hogansville, NY, has selected its StoreForward ESL Electronic Shelf Labeling Solution through value-added reseller and technology consultant for First Americans, Retail Magic.
StoreForward ESL will optimize store processes and ensure customer confidence through its superior technology, and extreme reliability. With "no batteries" technology, StoreForward ESL is the first of its kind, using patented inductive coupling and 802.11 b/g standard wireless LAN. Real-time communication allows First Americans to instantly change pricing on its products throughout the store multiple times during the day. The system will decrease labor costs and ensure correct product placement and planogram compliance, while StoreForward ESL's reporting capabilities will allow First Americans to more effectively manage its inventory.
"We chose the Wincor StoreForward ESL solution over the competition because of the superior technology and benefits. It gives our customers peace of mind, knowing that the price on the tag is the same price that will ring up at the checkout. In addition, the labor savings will be substantial, and the cost to implement this solution was significantly lower than other solutions we looked at. First Americans' goal is to become one of the most technologically advanced grocers in the northeast, and StoreForward ESL brings us much closer to achieving this."
"Wincor is extremely pleased to announce the installation of our new ESL solution at First Americans," said Doug Wood, vice president of retail for Wincor Nixdorf U.S. "Far more than just an electronic pricing system, StoreForward ESL improves customer confidence and loyalty while delivering the best ROI in the industry. "
The StoreForward suite of solutions combines Wincor Nixdorf's vision of in-store systems functionality with Sun Microsystems' reliable network computing infrastructure to offer a fully integrated, end-to-end solution for retailers.
