CARROLLTON, Ga., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- OFS, a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative fiberoptic solutions, announced today that it is expanding and enhancing the capabilities of its best-selling PowerGuide(R) All-Dielectric Self-Supporting (ADSS) Optical Fiber Cable family.
The PowerGuide TTH Loose Tube Cable, an ideal, cost-effective solution for Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and short-span aerial applications, is now available in fiber counts up to 30 (with six fibers per buffer tube), while the cable's small outer diameter remains unchanged. The TTH cable design is able to span up to 346 feet (105 meters) depending on loading and installation conditions. Featuring one of the smallest ADSS cable diameters in the industry and an all-dielectric construction, the PowerGuide TTH Cable is compact, lightweight and easy to handle and install, thus helping save time and money on deployment.
OFS has also enhanced its PowerGuide ShortSpan Loose Tube Cable by increasing the cable's maximum fiber count to 144. Available in custom configurations to meet customer needs, this cable design is now able to span up to 1,150 feet (345 meters) depending on loading and installation conditions. A more robust alternative for distribution networks and duct installations, the PowerGuide ShortSpan Cable features a small round profile that can help reduce wind and ice loading.
"As a leading provider of all-dielectric, ADSS optical fiber cables, OFS is committed to continually increasing the options our customers have to maximize their network performance," said Eric Whitham, Cable Product Manager at OFS. "Whether the application requires increased carrying capacity, or involves high electric field space potentials, our company offers a suitable PowerGuide cable," Mr. Whitham added.
