Plato Networks Hires Marketing Leader Sid Yenamandra As Vice President of Worldwide Marketing

August 11, 2008

Plato Networks Inc., a fabless communications semiconductor company announced today that Sid Yenamandra has joined the company as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Plato Networks is an innovative developer of mixed-signal connectivity solutions leveraging high-precision analog circuit design and advanced digital signal processing techniques to serve as a catalyst for the growing bandwidth demands of the next generation data center.

Sid brings extensive experience in the communications and storage industry. Most recently, he served as Sr. Director, Marketing and Systems Engineering for Hifn – a leader in secure storage and networking solutions. In this role, his responsibilities included managing the P&L and leading the product marketing, field applications and systems engineering organizations. Prior to Hifn, Sid served as Sr. Director of Exar’s Optical Networking & Storage Product Lines where he spearheaded several new initiatives including Storage PHYs and Ethernet over SONET. Before Exar, Sid was at Broadcom where he led the marketing efforts for their award-winning Enterprise Gigabit Ethernet Switching product line. Sid was instrumental in growing Broadcom’s Enterprise Switch business to its market leadership position. Prior to Broadcom, he held marketing and applications engineering roles at Conexant/Mindspeed for the industry’s first 10Gbps PHY layer device and market-leading Fibre Channel switch chip.

Sid has been a featured speaker in several leading Storage and Networking technology conferences and has authored over 20 technical articles. He was also the recipient of an Outstanding Contributor Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2001, for his efforts to advance 10 Gigabit Ethernet technologies.

Sid received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and completed graduate level course-work from University of California, Berkeley.

“I am delighted that Sid has decided to join Plato Networks,” said Dr. Roubik Gregorian, President and CEO, Plato Networks. “Last year, Eric Chen and Dr. Hakim Mesiwala joined Plato as VP of Digital Design and VP of System Engineering respectively,” he added. “The combined experience of our executive management team will enable us to successfully bring a revolutionary data center connectivity solution to market.”

“Plato’s unique mixed-signal technology platform solves a critical problem for the data center infrastructure market by addressing the conflicting need for higher bandwidth while protecting existing investments in cabling infrastructure and lowering the total power dissipated by these systems,” said Sid Yenamandra. “I look forward to leverage my experience as we strive to bring Plato’s unique technology to market and fuel the network consolidation in the enterprise data center over a converged ethernet fabric.”
