Don’t Panic, It’s a Test
A MIDLAND chemicals firm has advised people to remain calm tomorrow as it carries out the annual test of its off-site alarm.
The alarm- a very loud siren – will be set off at noon from Rhodia’s Trinity Street site in Oldbury and is designed to be heard up to one kilometre away to alert people in the event of a major fire or chemical release from the site.
Officials said today that at the sounding of the device tomorrow for about 60 seconds there was no need for anyone to take any action.
