Toshiba and IPtimize Certify Nationwide Interoperability of Strata CIX VoIP Systems and SIP Trunking

August 12, 2008

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba — www.telecom.toshiba.com) and IPtimize Inc. (Pink Sheets:IPZI)(www.iptimize.com), a broadband voice and data service provider, today announced they have formed an agreement to bring IPtimize SIP Trunking services to Toshiba business communications customers via Toshiba’s nationwide Authorized Dealer Network. IPtimize SIP Trunking services operate in any network environment to optimize solutions for end users, and these services have been certified with Toshiba’s family of Strata(R) CIX(TM) IP business communication systems and are now available nationwide from Authorized Toshiba Dealers. IPtimize has more than 1,800 rate centers nationwide and will provide training plus sales and engineering support to Authorized Toshiba Dealers as part of the agreement.

“IPtimize brings Toshiba’s Strata CIX IP business communication system users a new and unique choice in SIP Trunking services,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager for Toshiba Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division. “Since IPtimize does not require that end users be equipped with special CPE equipment, its services will operate in virtually any network environment, helping our users to optimize their Toshiba IP voice communications.”

“We are pleased to make IPtimize SIP Trunking services available to enterprises via Toshiba’s Authorized Dealer Network, allowing operations in any network environment to optimize solutions for Toshiba’s end-user customers,” said Clinton J. Wilson, president of IPtimize. “As our first SIP Trunking agreement with a VoIP customer premise equipment vendor, we will be working together to offer a reliable IP voice communications solution that provides cost control and savings.”

IPtimize’s SIP Trunking services do not require users to use a specific set of facilities, nor does it have the usual limitations of a wholesale provider of hosted VoIP support services where carrier-class quality of service, advanced commercial service features and global reach are typically out of range. In addition, unlike other hosted service providers, IPtimize does not require that end users be equipped with special voice shaping equipment or other brand-specific CPE to enable the service.

Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division is focused on VoIP business communication solutions, including award-winning Internet Protocol-based (IP) telephone systems, video collaboration tools, call center applications, and custom productivity applications.

“IPtimize SIP Trunking service gives Toshiba Strata CIX IP system users ISDN-like features over data connections without the need to modify their data networks,” said Eric Abing, product manager, Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division. “With the IPtimize agreement, Toshiba’s dealers receive training, dedicated support and the opportunity for increased revenues.”
