August 12, 2008

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba — www.telecom.toshiba.com) today announced that its Toshiba Strata(R) CIX(TM) family of IP business communication systems has been certified as interoperable with AT&T’s IP Flexible Reach service. The combination of Toshiba voice communication systems and AT&T IP Flexible Reach is now available from Authorized Toshiba Dealers nationwide.

“We are pleased to announce the certification of the Toshiba Strata CIX family with the AT&T IP Flexible Reach service,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager, Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. “The Toshiba-AT&T IP solution gives our customers the reliability and investment protection of Toshiba equipment coupled with the voice quality, affordability and business-class performance of the AT&T IP Flexible Reach service.”

“We’re pleased to certify Toshiba’s Strata CIX family of IP business communication systems, enabling its nationwide dealer network to work with AT&T to offer the AT&T IP Flexible Reach service to Toshiba customers,” said Shawn Conroy, AT&T vice president of Voice Networking.

AT&T IP Flexible Reach is a managed Voice over IP communication solution that supports inbound and outbound calling over a data network, providing local, U.S., long distance and international calling for U.S. sites. Delivering the efficiency and economical benefits of network convergence, AT&T’s IP Flexible Reach installs fully configured gateway routers at each site to transport both voice and data traffic and is connected to the Toshiba Strata CIX IP business communication systems at each site. Both the Toshiba Strata CIX systems and AT&T IP Flexible Reach can be TDM-enabled, allowing enterprises to have a converged system.

“Enterprises can depend on Toshiba and AT&T, two of the world’s largest and most respected companies, for an IP voice communication solution that delivers Voice over IP features over a data connection, without the need to buy separate services for voice and data,” said Eric Abing, product manager, Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division.
