SandCherry, Inc., a provider of multi-service broker software for extending applications to phone, mobile, and multimodal devices, today announced that the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform(TM) leverages SandCherry's AppDev(TM) VXML and SoftServer(TM) platform, designed to provide a simple and cost-effective way to incorporate advanced speech capabilities into Web applications. Today's announcement supports the general availability of BEA WebLogic Platform 8.1(TM), an integrated platform that provides superior business integration through the convergence of application development and integration, from BEA Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAS), the world's leading application infrastructure software company.
SandCherry's AppDev VXML is designed to seamlessly integrate with BEA WebLogic Workshop(TM) and allow service providers and enterprises to simplify the development and integration of converged applications for Web and phone users. Applications deployed on BEA WebLogic Server(TM) are designed to seamlessly incorporate both touch-tone and voice controls for phone and multimodal devices using the SoftServer platform, increasing the reach of applications while reducing costs for customer service, content portal, and network services solutions.
"BEA WebLogic is the central component for consolidating application delivery," explained Charles Corfield, SandCherry president and CEO. "Providing the AppDev VXML and SoftServer platform for BEA's proven WebLogic Platform 8.1 accentuates our goal of eliminating the need to integrate and maintain costly and cumbersome standalone speech solutions."
"SandCherry and BEA can help extend the WebLogic platform into the telecommunications area, a key market for BEA," added Scott Edgington, vice president and general manager, global software partners, BEA Systems, Inc. "There's a common desire in both companies to provide customers with the best technology available and to deliver a solution designed to speed deployment and provide a faster time to value."
