Local.Com Announces New Vice President, Technology

Local.com Corporation (NASDAQ:LOCM), a leading local search site and network, today announced the appointment of Peter Mathews to the position of vice president, technology.

Mathews will be responsible for leading Local.com’s technology team and initiatives, including defining and refining the company’s technology infrastructure strategy, processes and objectives. His team will also be responsible for building and supporting the technology used to power the company’s Local.com site, syndicated network and related product offerings.

Mathews has more than 18 years of engineering and technology experience. Most recently, he served as vice president, engineering for AGIS Network, a vertical search portal. At AGIS Network, Mathews led the organization’s technology vision, infrastructure and software development. Previously Mathews led software development at Autobytel, an Internet automotive services company. At Autobytel he was responsible for implementing a software development life cycle, managing the development of the company’s automotive websites and the integration of Car.com into the company’s software infrastructure.

Mathews also served as the vice president, product development for eTag Technology, where he was responsible for designing and developing an RFID based automated check-in solution for the airline industry. Mathews also served as the vice president, software development for Travelocity and worked on interactive television systems for Oracle Corporation.

Mathews holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
