NEC to Showcase Expanded Family of Optical and Digital Microwave Radio Systems at SUPERCOMM 2005
Posted on: Thursday, 26 May 2005, 12:00 CDT
NEC America, Inc. (NEC), a leading provider of innovative communications products, solutions and services, will highlight its wide range of optical networking and digital microwave radio solutions at SUPERCOMM 2005, held June 6 - 9, 2005, at McCormick Place in Chicago. NEC will unveil new technology, as well as showcase recently announced solutions at booth #51010.
NEC is responding to carrier demands by announcing new optical networking and microwave radio offerings that seek to future proof carrier networks, and reduce operational and capital expenditures.
Optical Networking Infrastructure Technologies
NEC will unveil new optical networking technology that dynamically adds "new dimensions" to optical networks. Leveraging the company's reputation for reliability and performance, NEC will introduce the first solution in its new-generation optical networking products that will expand beyond traditional optical transport to enable multi-dimensional, agile networks.
"At SUPERCOMM, we are introducing new optical networking technology to meet the needs of carriers," said Rich Moran, director, product marketing, Optical Network Systems Division, NEC. "As demand grows and networks evolve, NEC's technology will bring a new dimension to optical infrastructure; allowing operators to best handle the scale and dynamics of optical services."
Digital Microwave Radio Solutions
SUPERCOMM will also allow NEC to showcase its recently released NLite(TM) Lx digital microwave radio system. This compact, cost-effective solution delivers enhanced transmission capacity; allowing network operators the ability to transmit 3xDS3s plus 8xDS1s in a 30 MHz channel. Additionally, the radio uses NEC's XPIC (Cross Pole Interference Cancellation) technology to expand to twice the current bandwidth capacity on a single microwave frequency pair.
NEC will also have on display its NLite 155 digital microwave radio system, which provides a short-haul, highly reliable, easy-to-install solution that is ideal for networks seeking flexible and cost effective broadband access or connectivity. With dedicated line service support and superior network management applications, the NLite 155 provides high quality service for all types of networks incorporating SONET and SDH.
"Expanding mobile networks has led network operators to seek out innovative designs within microwave solutions," said Bruce Blain, vice president, Radio Communications Systems Division, NEC. "We will continue to focus on the quality, reliability, technology and higher transmission capacities of the NLite Lx to grow and use this opportunity to further establish our position in the industry."
Additional NEC Activities at SUPERCOMM 2005
