FOX News Channel to Launch Significant Enhancements to the Network's Facebook(R) Page

Posted on: Monday, 18 August 2008, 12:00 CDT

FOX News Channel (FNC) will launch several significant enhancements to the network's Facebook page on Tuesday, August 19th, announced Joel Cheatwood, the network's Senior Vice President of Development. The redesign will feature an enhanced video player with expanded clip library and added outlets for user feedback and interactivity - all seamlessly integrated within the native Facebook environment. FNC was the first news network to establish a presence on Facebook in 2006.

In making the announcement, Cheatwood said, "Facebook's continued growth and demographic profile makes them an increasingly important alternative outlet for viewers and fans to digest news and customize FNC content in a casual and fun environment. The enhancements and added features to our existing page will provide current FNC 'friends' with a better experience and attract additional Facebook members to make our page an active part of their profile."

The new video application on FNC's page will be continually updated and allow viewers to chose video clips from several different categories, post them to their profile and/or share them with their Facebook friends. FNC will also be posting exclusive behind-the-scenes video clips featuring the network's top talent leading tours around FNC studios/headquarters; "classic" segments from the channel's history; current "must-see" segments and photo albums of our talent in studio and on location.

FNC Facebook page users are encouraged to participate and interact with each other through new discussion boards, reviews, polls, and photo submissions.

FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour general news service covering breaking news as well as political, entertainment and business news. For more than six years, FNC has been the most watched cable news channel in the nation. Owned by News Corp., FNC is available in more than 90 million homes.
