Fluke Acquires Intellectual Property and NetAlly Product Line of Viola
Fluke Networks, a provider of solutions for the installation and certification, testing, monitoring and analysis of copper, fiber and wireless networks, has acquired the intellectual property and the NetAlly product line of former Viola Networks.
Terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed. The purchase of Viola’s technologies and source code is expected to enable Fluke Networks to extend its product lines into VoIP analysis.
NetAlly is claimed to incorporate network test approach that is adept at performing pre-deployment network assessments. This complements Fluke Networks’s existing test methodologies, providing a complete picture of voice and data performance in both real time and through historical views.
Fluke Networks intends to rebrand and integrate elements of NetAlly into new products containing these capabilities as well as create extensions to existing Fluke Networks’s lines.
Paul Caragher, president of Fluke Networks, said: “Our prior integrations of the NetFlow Tracker and Visual UpTime product lines, the recent release of Visual Performance Manager 4.0, the addition of key senior management, and now the purchase of NetAlly all combine to give our performance management business the strength in people and product our customers require.”
