Search Engine Marketing (SEM/SEO) Industry Thrives As Search Engine Strategies (SES) Kicks Off in San Jose

Posted on: Monday, 18 August 2008, 18:00 CDT

According to a recent Pew Internet study, 49% of internet users use search engines on a typical day - a number that has been steadily rising from about one-third of all users in 2002. As people turn to search engines for an increasingly broad range of questions, the opportunity for search marketers continues to thrive. With that, Search Engine Strategies (SES) San Jose kicks off today at the San Jose Convention Center (http://www.searchenginestrategies.com/sanjose) and will run through Friday, August 22nd. Over 6,000 marketers from virtually every industry are expected to assemble to learn new strategies and tactics for raising their online visibility from search industry experts and leading search engine representatives.

Led by renowned search authority Kevin Ryan, Vice President, Global Content Director, Search Engine Strategies and SearchEngineWatch.com, SES San Jose is known as the preeminent source of practical knowledge for search marketers. Attendees will participate in diverse sessions geared to address topics on Just the Basics, Social Media, Advanced Advertising, B2B Search, Organic Search, and many others. With more than 80 sessions designed for every skill level, SES San Jose provides the perfect atmosphere for those seeking knowledge, networking opportunities, career development and growth opportunities for their business.

This year's event features a domain auction led by Moniker, a provider of Domain Asset Management services. Attendees will gather to auction off and bid on domain names at the exclusive live and extended online auction, which is scheduled to start on Wednesday, August 20 at 5:45 p.m. PDT. The final inventory of the best search-focused domain values for sale can be found at http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/detail.html?auction_id=195. SES attendees are automatically eligible to attend the private live auction.

Additionally, the first annual SES Awards will be presented at keynote and Orion panel sessions throughout the four days of the event. The SES Awards honor 15 outstanding search marketers and will be judged by a panel of industry experts and the SES Awards editorial staff. Finalists were announced earlier this month and can be found at http://www.searchenginestrategies.com/sanjose/awards/.

A Platinum Passport for all sessions, keynotes, and the expo hall is $1,995. For additional registration information about the San Jose event and other conferences in the series, visit www.SearchEngineStrategies.com.
