Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) expands their acclaimed XPort family of serial products today, introducing the XPort1020, a 6U CompactPCI card with up to 12 multi-protocol serial ports. The XPort1020 takes advantage of the 6U cPCI form factor to provide up to three times the density of other XPort products. The XPort1020's features include:
-- 6U CompactPCI form factor -- Eight (8) or Twelve (12) SCC interfaces provided by Freescale MPC8270 processors -- 32 MB of ECC SDRAM per processor -- 3.3 V and 5 V compatible CompactPCI interface -- Software selectable for DCE or DTE operation -- Rear-panel I/O via XIt1020 -- Supports multiple serial interface standards: -- RS-232 -- RS-422 -- RS-423 -- RS-485 -- MIL-STD-188-114 Balanced -- MIL-STD-188-114 Unbalanced Type 1 and 2 -- Supports multiple serial protocols: -- HDLC -- UART -- Transparent -- BISYNC -- Supports multiple encoding schemes: -- NRZ -- NRZI -- FM0 -- FM1 -- Manchester -- Differential Manchester -- In-house X-ES driver support for Linux, WindRiver VxWorks, Green Hills INTEGRITY and Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP software -- Guaranteed 4-hour response to all hardware and software technical questions
"When customers requested a 12-port serial solution, it was easy to satisfy by replicating our existing hardware and software designs on the larger 6U cPCI form factor," states Bret Farnum, VP of Sales for Extreme Engineering. "Customers were able to migrate to XPort1020 in a few days, shortening their engineering efforts significantly," adds Farnum.
