Cbeyond Launches Hosted Microsoft Exchange Service in All Markets

August 19, 2008

Cbeyond(R), Inc. (NASDAQ: CBEY), a leading IP-based managed services provider, announces the immediate availability of its Hosted Microsoft Exchange service to small businesses in all of its markets. The company also broadens its mobile handset options for BeyondMobile(TM) customers.

Hosted Microsoft Exchange provides small businesses with an enterprise-class e-mail solution, featuring appointment setting, shared contacts, task management and over-the-air syncing with mobile devices. The service can be used as a key element of Cbeyond’s BeyondVoice(R) service, an integrated package of local and long distance voice and Internet services, or it can be made even more powerful by using it in conjunction with the company’s mobile service offering. Available to Cbeyond customers via Microsoft Office Outlook on a PC, Web browser or smartphone, Hosted Microsoft Exchange is the first hosted service based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 that is fully integrated with mobile access from a single provider.

“We’ve recently added Hosted Microsoft Exchange to our Cbeyond service and it is one of the best moves that we’ve made,” said Dr. Hayes Wilson, a physician at Piedmont Rheumatology. “Our practice now has immediate access and can respond if needed.”

Cbeyond customers can choose from two offerings: Hosted Microsoft Exchange Basic or Complete. Hosted Microsoft Exchange Basic is available to all Cbeyond customers without incurring additional fees. This service includes Web/POP/IMAP email access, personal contact list, and calendar access. The Hosted Microsoft Exchange Complete service can be added to a Cbeyond account for $10 per user, per month. Included in that price is the Microsoft Outlook client software, appointment setting, shared contacts, task management and over-the-air syncing with mobile devices.

In addition to the all-market rollout of Hosted Microsoft Exchange, Cbeyond recently increased its handset options to include the BlackBerry(R) Pearl 8130 smartphone. Now Cbeyond customers in need of a Windows-enabled smartphone can select from the following four devices:

— BlackBerry(R) Pearl 8130 smartphone

— BlackBerry 8830 World Edition smartphone

— BlackBerry 8703 smartphone

— Moto Q(TM) 9c

BeyondMobile is Cbeyond’s mobile voice and data service designed specifically for small business. The service allows company’s to share minutes across all employees’ mobile lines and allows customers to apply unused landline minutes to their mobile lines for free.

“We take the guess work out of mobile phone purchases, offering devices with the functionality a small business needs,” said Paul Gies, senior director of products. “Today, small businesses can combine Cbeyond’s BeyondMobile service with Hosted Microsoft Exchange and gain access to critical information, no matter where they are. In an increasingly competitive marketplace, flexibility and access to information are extremely valuable.”
