OCN, an internet service provider, which is operated by NTT Communications, has launched a mobile virtual network operator service for high-speed mobile internet in Japan, with eAccess, a broadband IP communication service company.

The new service, named OCN High-speed Mobile EM, is based on high-speed downlink packet access protocol, which is claimed to allow subscribers to obtain broadband-quality internet access with a maximum downlink speed of 7.2Mbps and a maximum uplink speed of 384kbps.

NTT Communications said that it will provide one-stop service, from registration and billing to customer support, for OCN High-speed Mobile EM. It will also rent data cards, which allow subscribers to save on installation costs.
