Lenovo today announced its intention to ship Intel(R) Anti-Theft Technology in an effort to help customers address the growing demand for notebook protection and security among business users.
"With technologies such as our embedded security subsystem, Lenovo has been a leader in PC security innovation," said Mark Cohen, vice president and distinguished engineer, Notebook Business Unit, Lenovo. "Intel Anti-Theft Technology will enable Lenovo to dramatically improve PC system security, data protection, and theft management to better serve our customers' security needs."
As a leader in notebook security, Lenovo's next-generation ThinkPad notebook PCs, scheduled for release later this year, will include innovative built-in security capabilities based on Intel(R) Anti-Theft Technology. Combined with Intel(R) Anti-Theft Technology, Lenovo's industry-leading hardware security capabilities provide ThinkPad notebook users with greater security and higher tamper-resistance and increased security.
"With growth of notebook sales skyrocketing in the last decade, mobile data security and theft management have become important requirements for our customers," said Mooly Eden, Intel vice president and general manager, Mobile Platforms Group. "We are excited to collaborate with Lenovo to bring to market new hardware-based security solutions using Intel(R) Anti-Theft Technology that are scalable worldwide and will protect PC data and deter theft."
