Cavium Networks will showcase OCTEON and its industry-leading L3-L7 performance at SUPERCOMM 2005 in Chicago, Illinois from June 7 to June 9, 2005 in meeting room # 91030. OCTEON Processors are being integrated by Network Equipment OEMs into routers, switches, content switches, security & application-aware gateways, anti-virus & IPS gateways, broadband gateways, wireless equipment and network storage equipment.

OCTEON Multi-core MIPS64 processors address the needs of next-generation networking equipment ranging in performance from 200Mbps to 10Gbps. The OCTEON family offers a scalable, fully software compatible processor line with 2 to 16 MIPS64-based cores in a single chip and power ranging from under 5 to 29 Watts. OCTEON is the only processor that integrates a complete range of hardware acceleration essential for L3-L7 applications, which includes packet processing, TCP, multi-core scaling, compression/decompression, pattern matching, and encryption. Further, OCTEON integrates flexible networking interfaces with 8x Gigabit Ethernet ports (RGMII) or dual SPI-4.2 interfaces, a host/slave PCI-X 64bit/133MHz bus and multiple memory interfaces with support for up to 800MHz DDR 1/2, 72-bit/144-bit wide DRAM and 2x 18-bit wide optional low-latency RLDRAM.
