New CyberPatrol SiteSURV Products Offer 'In the Cloud' Managed Web Filtering and Local Network Services for SMBs

CyberPatrol today announced the introduction of CyberPatrol SiteSURV and SiteSURV plus, the most powerful and cost-effective managed web filtering services that operate in the cloud and are available for small and medium sized businesses. CyberPatrol SiteSURV filters web content differently than most other solutions available. Website domain names are looked up in the cloud through a DNS server before a web browser can download a site's content. By handling these queries on the DNS server, the SiteSURV web filtering products eliminate the need for a specific platform. A simple change to the access point (router, PC, or server) directs web site requests to Cyber Patrol's servers. Each requested site is compared against a list of allowed and blocked sites and users are either allowed to continue to the Internet or their request is denied.

CyberPatrol SiteSURV plus puts our SiteCAT database on a network PC and filters web content locally based on categories selected by the network administrator. Since web requests are blocked before the Internet is accessed, customers preserve bandwidth. SiteSURV plus and SiteSURV operate without the need of client software and therefore works with any user PC including MAC or Linux based operating systems.
