ADVA Optical Networking, BellSouth and Infonetics Research Lead Discussion at SUPERCOMM on Mass Deployment of Ethernet Services

At SUPERCOMM 2005 in Chicago, Ethernet experts from ADVA Optical Networking, BellSouth, and Infonetics Research, as well as a European telecommunications analyst, will drive industry discussion at one of the IEC Communications Forum's "@SUPERCOMM" sessions, within the Broadband Services and Networks Forum. Session Title: "Mass Deployment of Ethernet Services: At Last Profitable and Carrier-Class" Session Date: Tuesday, June 7, 9:15 - 10:45 a.m. Location: Room S401BC at McCormick Place
The session will be moderated by Infonetics Research principal analyst and co-founder Michael Howard, recognized globally for his expertise in service provider network market trends. Howard will lead the panel of experts examining the mix of access platform features, functionality and pricing that will trigger mass deployment of Ethernet services.
ADVA Optical Networking's vice president, technology strategy, Lars Ramfelt, will offer insights into current and up-and-coming technology solutions that industry vendors are bringing to market to help rapidly drive Ethernet evolution.
Hany Fahmy, BellSouth's senior network architect, advanced network architecture concepts, will look at the new Ethernet services that carriers are rolling out, the revenue opportunities service providers are realizing from the expanding deployment of Ethernet in their networks and the changing dynamics of the North American Ethernet market. BellSouth is currently the largest U.S. provider of metro Ethernet services.
Independent consulting analyst Mark Lum, who focuses on optical, metro, Ethernet and storage networks and services, will bring a specific viewpoint from Europe, where Ethernet services are considerably well-developed compared with many other regions.
