Tunisia: Facebook Ban Provokes Protests

Thousands of Tunisians who are members of the popular internet social network, Facebook, have protested against a Tunisian Internet Agency decision to block access to the website. The protesters called for allowing access to the website, which has been banned since last Monday [18 August]. Members of the group “For Gathering 25,000 Tunisians” called for pressuring the Tunisian Internet Agency to allow access to Facebook. The members, whose numbers have exceeded 8,000, demanded the concerned authorities to allow access to the website.
