Privacyware and PC Stars Partner to Deliver Web Application Security

Privacyware, a provider of security data analytics software, has partnered with PC Stars, a distributor of enterprise software and services to deliver web application security to China corporate market.

Under the partnership, PC Stars will distribute Privacyware's full line of security software offerings but will initially feature Privacyware's IIS Web Application Firewall and Host Intrusion Prevention solution, ThreatSentry, to address the global rise in SQL Injection, cross-site scripting and other web-based threats targeting vulnerable web applications and host environments.

Privacyware claims that ThreatSentry is designed to prevent attacks and other unauthorized system access on web servers utilizing Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).

According to Privacyware, ThreatSentry delivers protection from an array of documented exploitive techniques such as SQL injection, directory traversal, cross-site scripting, parameter manipulation, buffer overflow, denial of service and other exploitive techniques and also helps customers comply with section 6.6 of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Other key ThreatSentry features include AI-based behavioral intrusion prevention, centralized management, and email alert notification.

Greg Salvato, CEO of Privacyware, said: "Systems administrators and web developers around the world are pressured by an alarming rise in cyber-attacks to web applications and related systems. PC Stars has developed an impressive software distribution and customer support organizations that will enable us to more effectively deliver Privacyware solutions to IT personnel in China who are responsible for the defense of critical web infrastructures."
