Nikkei Dives to 5-Month Low in Afternoon
Tokyo, Sept. 2 (Jiji Press)–Stocks plunged due to a wave of futures-led selling on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Tuesday afternoon, pushing down the key Nikkei average to the lowest level in about five months.
At 2:09 p.m., the 225-issue Nikkei average was down 343.11 points, or 2.7 pct, at 12,491.07, after falling 238.69 points on Monday.END
