Nokia Completes Purchase Hot Stocks

September 3, 2008

Samsung Electronics accepted Nokia’s offer to buy out its stake in Symbian, a software firm, giving Nokia agreements from all Symbian shareholders to sell their shares, Nokia announced.

Nokia said in June that it would spend $410 million to buy out other shareholders of Symbian, a maker of smartphone software based in Britain, and make its software royalty-free to other phone makers in response to new rivals like Google.
