Socialmedia.Com Holds First OpenThread Event & Opens Up Additional OpenSocial Networks to Advertisers
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Socialmedia.com, the first social advertising network to monetize Facebook application traffic, is now allowing marketers to advertise within Orkut and Friendster applications. Hundreds of applications currently exist on Orkut and Friendster, with these two social networks reaching a combined global audience of 50MM+ unique users.
To rally developer support for OpenSocial, Socialmedia.com created the OpenThread event. The event is designed to educate developers on how to create OpenSocial applications by providing the developer community with an interactive forum to learn from others. OpenThread connects developers with OpenSocial technical experts to help address application questions.
The first OpenThread event was held in San Francisco August 15th with representatives from Google's OpenSocial team on hand. "It's important for developers to have an interactive forum where they can learn from one another and plug into our OpenSocial technical team to help guide efforts," said Keynote speaker Lane LiaBraaten with Google Developer Programs. "The OpenThread event is an effective way for developers to get educated on how to create OpenSocial applications and listen to what's working and not working from other developers."
Socialmedia.com will hold another OpenThread event the beginning of December in their San Francisco office on Pier 38. To attend, please register at http://www.socialmedia.com/openthreadregister.
Socialmedia.com is the largest independent social media advertising network, delivering ads within 5,000+ applications running on Facebook, Bebo, Hi5, MySpace, Orkut and Friendster. The company has created the Socialmedia Advertising Platform, enabling advertisers to effectively reach over 35 million monthly unique users through its network. The company's platform allows developers of social media applications to monetize their traffic from advertising. Socialmedia.com has learned what developers and advertisers need first-hand, having internally produced hit Facebook applications such as FoodFight (throw virtual food at your online friends) and Happy Hour (send that friend a virtual cocktail), which have been installed by over 10 million consumers. Socialmedia.com is based in San Francisco, CA. Interested in joining the conversation? Please visit: http://www.socialmedia.com/.
