ALN Network Executive, Carla Lewis-Long Named 2008 Fellow for Prestigious Betsy Magness Leadership Institute

The Betsy Magness Leadership Institute (BMLI) recently named network executive, Carla Lewis-Long as a 2008 Fellow in their prestigious leadership program. Carla is Senior Vice President of Affiliate Sales at Washington, DC-based AmericanLife TV Network(TM) (www.americanlifetv.com), the cable network devoted to the Baby Boomer generation.
BMLI is recognized as the flagship leadership development program of the cable and telecommunications industry. For more than twenty-five years, Women in Cable Telecommunications has set the industry standard for women's leadership development programs.
The Betsy Magness Leadership Institute (BMLI) Fellows participate in a yearlong educational program which provides direct feedback, personal development, and industry involvement. Carla will join the 2008-2009 class which includes two 25-person classes, which shall be designated Class XVIII and Class XIX, respectively. BMLI alumnae return to their companies with enhanced leadership skills and a renewed vision of their strengths and goals, and they join other alumnae to serve as a new generation of leaders for the industry.
About Carla Lewis-Long
Prior to her position at ALN, Carla Lewis-Long served as Vice President, National Accounts for Oxygen Network. Before joining Oxygen Network, Carla served as Regional Vice President of Affiliate Sales for American Life TV where she played a key role in launching AmericanLife's new programming and negotiating the contracts between American Life TV Network and the key MSOs.
Carla started her cable career at USA Networks. Carla spent 12 years at USA/NBC Universal Television in New York City. She joined USA/NBC Universal as Manager for the Northeast region and soon got promoted to Director responsible for the subscriber growth for USA, Sci-Fi, TRIO, (NWI) News World International, HSN, Bravo, CNBC, MSNBC, Telemundo and Mun2.
Carla currently serves as President of CTAM Carolinas and past Co-Vice President of CTAM New York and past President of CTAM New England. Carla is a current member of WICT & NAMIC and just completed CTAM U at Harvard Business School.
Carla earned her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Emerson College, and spent her senior year studying at Emerson's European Center in the Netherlands. She currently resides in New York with her husband and daughter.
