September 8, 2008

France-based IT consulting services provider Sogeti, a subsidiary of Capgemini, has acquired mechanical research services company Euratec.

Euratec, which is also based in France, has 35 employees, and offers consulting and mechanical engineering services to the railway sector.

Euratec will be integrated into Sogeti’s R&D services arm Sogeti High Tech, which has 3,000 consultants in France, Germany, and India, and provides R&D services for defense firm EADS.

Dominique Lafond, managing director at Sogeti High Tech, said: “Railway expertise of Euratec combined with the technical offers with strong added value of Sogeti High Tech, particularly in testing, simulation, and total delivery, will profit our customers, partners, and collaborators.”
