A POSTMAN has admitted dumping more than 30,000 letters he should have delivered over three years.

Stephen Gouldthorp, 42, was remanded on bail for pre-sentence reports when he appeared yesterday at Teesside Crown Court.

He pleaded guilty to interfering with mail between March 23, 2005 and February 5 this year in the delivery of 30,404 postal packets.

Peter Wishlade, defending, said: “None of the packets were open, there is no allegation of theft.”

Judge Tony Briggs told Gouldthorp: “You should realise that the granting of bail is no indication of sentence, and all sentencing options remain open.”

Gouldthorp of West Lane, Middlesbrough, was remanded on bail for sentence on September 26.
