Mixx Communities Named Syndication Platform at TechCrunch 50 and Advertising Week DC
Mixx (http://www.mixx.com), a branded social news site, announced today that it will be service partner for San Francisco's TechCrunch 50, September 8-10, and Advertising Week DC, September 15-19.
Mixx Communities (http://www.mixx.com/groups), a platform of Mixx, and a feature that enables individuals or organizations to efficiently establish custom, niche social media sites, will be the syndication platform for all exhibitors, attendees and press at TechCrunch 50 and Advertising Week DC. Users will be able to access the latest conference news, highlights, videos and photos by logging onto Mixx.com and are encouraged to vote stories up or down for an accurate pulse on what is happening in real time.
"We are thrilled to be chosen as the branded presence at each of these conferences," said Chris McGill, CEO of Mixx. "Mixx Communities will essentially be a meeting place for attendees and press at these conferences to go to and chat about what they do and don't like or simply see what people are talking about."
Both TechCrunch 50 (TC50.mixx.com) and Advertising Week DC (ADWKDC08.mixx.com) have created their own Mixx Communities allowing individuals or organizations to tap into the already-existing archives of news categories and tags to import relevant content into the niche site. Prior to each conference, attendees and press are asked to create a login of their own for their conference community so they will have instant access to news and highlights at the start of each conference.
"Mixx is a perfect partner for Advertising Week DC," says Cary Hatch, President of MDB Communications and Chairman of Advertising Week DC. "Washington is an innovative community of marketing, media and advertising professionals, and Mixx has created an innovative social media platform for events like ours. We're looking forward to leveraging Mixx Communities to help Advertising Week DC add value for our attendees long after the event itself has ended."
Mixx launched 10 months ago and is growing rapidly with more than 3 million unique visitors per month.
Mixx is owned by Recommended Reading, Inc., a privately-held company based in McLean, Virginia, dedicated to connecting users and publishers in an ever more crowded digital media environment.
