NetQuest Launches Monitoring Access Optimizer; Improves Application Monitoring for High-Speed Ethernet Packet Networks

NetQuest, a leading manufacturer of test and monitoring access solutions, today announced the launch of its E-Series OptiCop 10G Converger, Monitoring Access Optimizer for high-speed Ethernet packet networks. The new E-Series utilizes NetQuest's Hybrid Inspection Technology (HIT) to provide a means to extract the traffic of interest and leverage existing investments in security and monitoring tools. The out-of-band access of the E-Series optimizes tool port usage and enables enterprises to implement management, assurance and security strategies related to the overall performance of the services being delivered, without degrading the service or distorting the results.

Network engineers are challenged with tool constraints like port and processing limitations, application-specific testing, remote monitoring, and budget. The E-Series provides a solution by optimizing/separating traffic applications and flows, then directing them to the appropriate tools. By filtering traffic, only the data of interest will be presented to the monitor system for processing, ensuring its valuable processing resources are preserved.

Additionally, network engineers benefit from advanced features like traffic aggregation, multicasting, load balancing, filtering and routing. The E-Series systems can access network traffic in one of three configurations: one-to-many, many-to-many, or many-to-one. In each of these configurations, the traffic destined for the monitoring equipment is controlled by the network administrator through the OptiCop 10G Converger's intuitive menu-driven interface.
