SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Salt Lake City residents looking for a restaurant near EnergySolutions Arena or places to visit around Temple Square can now turn to the updated 2008 Dex(R) Yellow Pages for information. The latest edition of the Dex Yellow Pages contains detailed information on thousands of local businesses and community resources.
The new directories also contain updated Community Pages that contain a special section devoted to two popular community programs: The Ken Garff "Road to Success" and Ken Garff "Keys to Success." The programs promote literacy and education among area school children. Dex is sponsoring both programs, and this year's print directory contains details on the programs' goals and how people can become involved.
"Dex has always been about providing residents of Salt Lake City with useful information about their community, and this year we're taking that a step further through our continued support and sponsorship of the Ken Garff programs," said Randi Kobak, regional marketing manager, Dex. "Now, with the new directories and DexKnows.com(TM), our local online search tool, Salt Lake City residents have all of the resources they need to find information about local businesses and activities."
Yellow Pages remain a vital resource for adults seeking local businesses. According to a recent Knowledge Networks/SRI Industry Usage Study, approximately 87 percent of the U.S. population used the print Yellow Pages in 2007. Yellow Pages usage -- including print and online searches -- grew to 17.2 billion searches in 2007, up from 16.7 billion in 2006.
