Ontela, Inc. (http://www.ontela.com), provider of an award-winning camera-phone picture-saving service for wireless carriers, today announced that it can transfer and save photos to eight new image-sharing sites. Carriers will now be able to offer their subscribers a much wider array of options for one-click transferring and sharing of their camera-phone photos. Adding to its existing destinations Blogger, Flickr, Photobucket and Snapfish, the Ontela service also can save images to Dot Photo, Facebook, Friendster, Kodak Gallery, Personal Grid, Picasa, SmugMug and TinyPic.
A 2008 study of consumer mobile preferences revealed that people who take pictures with their mobile phones want the ability to automatically save photos to a huge number of Web photo albums and social networking services. Ontela partners with and connects to the Web's leading photo-sharing and social networking sites. The company's software lets wireless carriers give their customers the ability to automatically save every camera-phone picture to the locations of their choice, whether a PC, e-mail and/or their favorite Web destinations.
"We've always believed that giving users the widest variety of Web destinations would add tremendous value to our service and make it much more attractive to wireless carriers," said Dan Shapiro, CEO of Ontela. "Photos no longer need to remain unseen and unshared on camera phones. Ontela is the simplest and most complete solution for freeing images from the phone so that people can actually enjoy them."
