VeriSign Messaging and Mobile Media President Re-Elected to CTIA Board of Directors
CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & ENTERTAINMENT — VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world, today announced that Charles Meyers, Group President, VeriSign(R) Messaging and Mobile Media has been re-elected to the CTIA – The Wireless Association(R) board of directors for the 2009 fiscal year. This will be Meyers’ second term on the board, where he will continue to help assist the association to develop the mobile industry globally. The board announcement was made at the annual meeting of CTIA members in San Francisco.
As a returning member to CTIA’s board, Meyers will continue to play an integral role in advancing the association’s broad industry agenda. In particular, the board will leverage his experience and expertise in inter-carrier mobile messaging and mobile social networks to lead industry discussions and initiatives.

Meyers’ appointment to the CTIA board and his simultaneous board membership in the Mobile Marketing Association, are testament to the breadth of expertise and leadership that the VeriSign Messaging and Mobile Media division brings to the mobile ecosystem. VeriSign powers inter-carrier mobile messaging for seven of the top 10 wireless carriers in North America, and in doing so enables more than 600 million messages on a typical day.
This past quarter, VeriSign set a single-day record by enabling 648 million text messages over a 24-hour period and a one-hour record of 42 million messages. From January through June 2008, VeriSign enabled 95.4 billion mobile messages across its network globally, another record. The division’s combined mobile messaging networks reach more than 2.4 billion global wireless customers through its network of more than 600 of the world’s leading wireless service providers.
