Neocleus Demonstrates Expanded Client-Hosted Virtualization Solutions at VMWorld 2008
Neocleus, the leader in client-hosted, type 1 virtualization (also referred to as endpoint virtualization), today announced that it will be demonstrating expanded use cases served by its technology at VMWorld 2008, Sept. 15-17, 2008, Las Vegas. The company will display a portfolio of client computing solutions that leverage its Desktop Hypervisor Framework to address distinct and vital challenges for enterprise IT departments. Demonstrations include Neocleus' first solution, Trusted Edge, which enables IT to provide secure access to corporate resources along with other flexible Windows-based client computing solutions.
As the diversity of end-user computing scenarios increases, enterprises more then ever require flexible client computing solutions. Delivering secure access to corporate resources from outside the corporate perimeter, extending the reach of desktop virtualization and supporting users' needs for personalization and open access to the Internet remain pressing issues facing IT managers today.Neocleus tackles IT challenges with innovative client-hosted, type 1 virtualization technologies. The company's Desktop Hypervisor Framework features an open source enhancement to the Xen hypervisor and a set of application program interfaces. Using Neocleus, IT departments can isolate Windows-based corporate computing from other tasks running on desktops and laptops. As such, tasks run in an environment that acts as its own "container" of functionality. With this approach IT can finally gain control over costs and improve the security and agility of its client computing infrastructure.
The specific use cases addressed by Neocleus' solutions at VMWorld 2008 allow enterprises to:
-- Secure access to corporate resources regardless of the endpoint's state of security - Securing access to corporate resources from outside the corporate perimeter is a significant headache for IT departments. Neocleus uses client-hosted, type 1 virtualization to fundamentally change the way organizations secure the distributed enterprise. This solution incorporates an innovative approach to authentication and configuration management, providing IT with a secure remote access solution that is predictable and easy to control without impacting user performance.
-- Expand reach of desktop virtualization to all users - Neocleus' client-hosted, type 1 approach provides the means for VOIP, video and other graphic- and CPU-intensive applications to run as local virtual machines with direct access to the endpoint horsepower they need to perform. Neocleus will demonstrate how this technology ultimately enables organizations to realize even greater value from their desktop virtualization efforts.
-- Streamline client computing - IT departments' and end users' client computing requirements are often in conflict. Users want flexibility to personalize their computing environment and freedom to use third-party applications and access Internet services. IT departments want to limit end-user changes and control access to "open" networks. Neocleus will demonstrate how it leverages client-hosted, type 1 virtualization to empower IT to deliver a completely closed, unchangeable corporate Windows computing image, free from hardware dependencies. At the same time, end users get the flexibility to personalize their client configurations and an open Windows computing environment with access to the Internet and other services on the same endpoint.
"IT departments demand flexible client computing solutions to address the mounting challenges inherent to managing a dispersed IT environment," said Etay Bogner, founder and CTO, Neocleus. "Our approach leverages client-hosted, type 1 virtualization technology to deliver a portfolio of solutions that address the most pressing IT challenges facing organizations today. By leveraging Neocleus' solutions IT departments are free to realize the agility, security and control that they require across the distributed enterprise, while end users maintain access to the applications and Internet services they need and still receive optimal performance from their desktops and laptops."
Neocleus' solutions will be available for full demonstration at booth # 342 at VMWorld 2008, Sept. 15-18, Las Vegas. To schedule a meeting or demo contact Mark Van Hook, Articulate Communications, 212-255-0080 ext. 33, [email protected]
