ZTE to Provide Mobile Data Connectivity Devices to KPN

ZTE, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has signed a framework agreement with KPN to provide mobile data connectivity devices for the HSDPA network of the Dutch telecom operator.

ZTE will provide the MF628 USB modem to KPN for its mobile internet customers who have high speed laptop connectivity, enabling those users to access the internet from almost any location in the Netherlands.

According to ZTE, its MF628 USB modem includes a microSD slot for up to 4GB of storage to enable users to share and move data on multiple devices. The modem will connect to KPN's HSDPA network and is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista, and MacOS X operating systems.

Peter Westgeest, director hardware at KPN Group, said: "KPN is happy to sign this framework contract with ZTE, after the successful launch of the MF626 USB data modem in March this year. The demand for mobile data services has been higher than expected, so we are pleased to partner with ZTE to drive the adoption of mobile broadband services in the Netherlands."
