Japan Mobile Carriers to Limit Net Access for Minors
Tokyo, Sept. 12 (Jiji Press)–NTT DoCoMo Inc. and four other Japanese mobile phone operators announced Friday they will start blocking access for subscribers younger than 18 to Internet content considered harmful to minors.
The filtering services are set to begin by March, they said.
The carriers will not block access for subscribers whose parents give permission for unfiltered services, they said.
Harmful content will be taken to indicate dating sites, adult sites and the like.END
