NCP Engineering Fills the 64-Bit VPN Client Void in U.S.
INTEROP -- Leading provider of endpoint security and VPN solutions, NCP engineering GmbH (www.ncp-e.com), today announced their 64-bit Secure Entry Client has reached a milestone: 10,000 downloads since its launch in April of 2008.
"The university requires a secure VPN connection for any staff who want to connect to the school's network remotely which can be a headache for those of us who are not in the IT field," said Michelle Kimple, professor, Duke University Medical Center. "NCP engineering's Vista 64-bit client software was easy to install, connected seamlessly with the existing VPN infrastructure and I don't even notice it's running in the background."
The bundled NCP 64-bit Secure Entry Client provides users a single software solution that integrates secure data transmissions, a dynamic personal firewall, Friendly Net Detection, and one-time password token and certificate support through a public key infrastructure (PKI). The dynamic firewall allows users to set policies for ports, IP addresses and segments, as well as applications. The Friendly Net Detection, created by NCP engineering, forces the network to identify itself to the device, preventing any data packet transfer until a safe or "friendly" network has been detected. Configuration and policy logic are easily set and managed centrally or through the NCP Secure Entry Client itself.
A 30-day trial version of NCP Secure Entry Client offering unrestricted use is available online at: http://www.ncp-e.com/en/downloads/software.html.
