Ipanema Technologies Appoints Thierry Messmer Director of Strategic Global Partners Sales
Posted on: Monday, 15 September 2008, 09:00 CDT
Ipanema Technologies, a leader in application traffic management systems for wide area networks, today announced that Thierry Messmer has been appointed director of Strategic Global Partners Sales, and will head up global sales through Ipanema's strategic global partners, including Orange Business Services and BT.
The appointment is significant, since large service providers have entered the market of WAN optimization controllers (WOC), having introduced managed WOC Services. These services are much like current managed router services, which are aimed at improving application performance as well as offering service level agreements (SLAs) guaranteeing highly predictable application performance to global enterprises customers.
Ipanema Technologies in partnership with BT (AC VPN, AOS), Orange Business Services (Network Boost) and other major service providers like Cable & Wireless, TATA Communications and VANCO, part of the Reliance Telecom Group, is leading this market evolution to provide a turnkey managed service offering that addresses the strategic requirements of a granular global network management solution and optimization. Complementing the value-added network services approach, Ipanema sells directly to enterprises, partnering with systems integrator such as Telindus.
According to Reza Mahdavi, president of Ipanema Technologies, "Given our focus on providing service provider partners with our solutions as part of our go-to-market strategy, Thierry's role is critical to Ipanema's success. We strongly believe that his extensive sales management experience at Cisco and strong experience with Ipanema partners such as Orange Business Services qualify him for this position. We welcome Thierry to our company."
Before joining Ipanema, Messmer worked for Cisco Systems for nine years in various sales management positions in the service provider business and, most recently, managed worldwide business relationships with Orange Business Services. Prior to this, he spent two years at AST Computer France as major account sales director and seven years in various sales and marketing roles at Compaq Computer France. He is a Sup de Co Tours graduate.
