VAI (Vormittag Associates, Inc.) (http://www.vai.net), a leader in enterprise management solutions for the mid-market, and an IBM Premier Business Partner, today unveiled version 5.0 of its S2K Enterprise Management Software solution.
S2K 5.0 is a comprehensive redesign of the company's current S2K software offerings that was developed to work together with IBM's Power(TM) Systems platform to provide a myriad of new features and capabilities, while continuing to promote "best practice" concepts to help companies improve operational efficiencies and deliver bottom-line results. S2K 5.0 leverages the integrated system design of the IBM i operating system, which provides a built-in database, advanced system management features, advanced security features and a virus resistant design meant to optimize the reliability and availability of business applications and simplify IT environments.
S2K 5.0 offers the following features and benefits:
-- Flexible, Real-Time Access to Greater Amounts of Data. S2K 5.0's streamlined navigation and redesigned user interface provides the user with greater flexibility and increased accessibility to larger pools of information. Integrated business intelligence tools allow multi-dimensional query and calculation support across all data fields, advanced reporting options, real-time dashboards and key performance indicators.
-- Expanded Web Portal Technology. Version 5.0 continues VAI's expansion of Web based offerings with IBM's Websphere Portal technology. This portal solution includes a Java-based shopping cart application that supports business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce, customer self-service, supplier self-service, customer relationship management (CRM) and Web based management tools for easy maintenance.
-- Enhanced WMS Application. S2K 5.0 boasts an enhanced Warehouse Management System (WMS) application including multi-language capabilities, radio frequency identification tag (RFID) options and voice directed picking integration.
Joe Scioscia, Vice President of Sales, VAI, said, "VAI is fully committed to providing the highest quality enterprise management software solutions for the IBM Power Systems platform. Our extensive relationship with IBM, combined with the considerable experience of the VAI staff, makes the targeted enhancements of S2K 5.0 the next logical step in our corporate strategy. Release 5.0 enhances VAI's standing in the enterprise software industry, with a product that is affordable, flexible, comprehensive and quick to implement."
Cory Lutton, IT Manager, Lynden Door, Inc., stated, "Today's manufacturing market is a competitive minefield, so it helps to be backed by the reliability of an IBM Power Systems Platform. Since VAI's S2K 5.0 enhances the advantages of IBM's platform, and the company is solely committed to developing the most advanced applications possible, the decision to purchase or upgrade to 5.0 should be a forgone conclusion for any company running on the IBM Power Systems Platform."
