Internet Task Force Wins $5,000 Grant

The Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force recently received a $5,000 grant from the Boone County Electric Community Trust.
The task force will use the money to assist in investigating Internet crimes against children and families in the Mid-Missouri area, the task force said in a news release. The consortium often investigates computer-based crimes such as cyber harassment and the production of child pornography,
The money also will be used to provide community presentations to parents’ groups, students, civics organizations and businesses dealing with Internet safety.
