C-COR Enhances Its Mobile Workforce Manager Solution With Industry-Leading Mapping Technology From MapFrame

Posted on: Monday, 13 June 2005, 09:00 CDT

C-COR Incorporated (Nasdaq:CCBL), a global provider of interoperable network solutions that simplify the transition to on demand networks, today announced that the Company is working with MapFrame Corporation, a leading mobile mapping and field automation solutions company, to integrate MapFrame's FieldSmart(R) software into its Mobile Workforce Manager (MWM(TM)). C-COR's MWM is a suite of field service automation tools for scheduling, routing, and workflow management that combines the simplicity and sophistication of browser-based business applications with real-time connectivity to the mobile workforce through wireless data connections and mobile computing devices. With the added capabilities of FieldSmart, C-COR's MWM will enable field technicians to spatially view plant information relating to specific work orders from a map of the entire service territory.

"C-COR has been searching for the right partner to deliver outside plant visualization to cable technicians using our Mobile Workforce Manager," stated Terri Richardson, Vice President of Product and Market Management for C-COR Solutions. "With MapFrame's FieldSmart, we've found the best in class solution. By integrating FieldSmart with our Mobile Workforce Manager, field technicians will have immediate access to plant information literally in the palm of their hands. This will reduce the time required and costs incurred to resolve trouble calls and outages."

MapFrame's FieldSmart moves maps and facility data out of the office into the field, empowering the mobile workforce, improving productivity, strengthening safety standards, and enhancing customer service. In addition to a spatial view of plant information, FieldSmart also provides complete outside plant mobile management tools for viewing, inspecting, and editing network spans, structures, and equipment. All network elements and network-related structures are available for visualization and analysis in the field or in the office. MapFrame's unique compression and data flow technology extends back office data, including the entire Geographic Information System (GIS), into the field and throughout the enterprise. The FieldSmart server component, Field Flow Manager(TM), provides workers with fast access to the latest maps and customer information in both wired and wireless environments. Designed to display all necessary data in one application, MapFrame's viewing package includes maps and facility data, work management, dispatch, and customer information.

"Traditionally focused in the utility space, our map-based field solutions are designed to help any mobile workforce get spatial data into the field." said Paul Wilson, MapFrame's President and Founder. "MapFrame is proud to be working with C-COR to bring spatially-enabled mobile workforce management solutions to cable companies."
