FileGenius(TM) Version 2 Goes to Public Beta, Final Release Sept. 29

BUFORD, Ga., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Version 2 of FileGenius (http://www.filegenius.com/) went to final public beta today and will go live with its final release on Monday, September 29.
FileGenius(TM) is the web-based, Mac OS X and Windows compatible file transfer & exchange product. Initially released in February of this year, it is quickly catching up with the competition in features and capabilities. Phase 1 of the Version 2 release spotlights the new workspace feature, allowing a site owner to create private workspaces which represent private, isolated file management and storage areas. Each workspace can be joined by any number of users, in any combination, all at the discretion of the site's Administrator.
Additionally, to carry the workspace theme further, users can belong to one or more workspaces, allowing employees to work on select projects or clients, as each project or client can be housed in a separate, secure, private login workspace. An unlimited number of employees, clients, associates, vendors and others can be users, all with direct access to the workspaces where they can see and work with their files in ways resembling the Mac's and Windows' desktop. Phase 2 and 3 of the version 2.0 release will continue to add features making the workspace increasingly familiar to Mac and Windows users. These features will be available before the year is out. Phase 2 is due October 22, and will include powerful move, copy, and rename features as well as innovative and time-saving direct file send and file-handling features. To complete an already superior security package, business- and enterprise-class audit/management enhancements will be added.
Security will not be compromised and FileGenius will continue to exclusively offer a completely "hidden" site product that is not accessible or visible via search engines or site explorers, like Google or Yahoo.
Many more revisions and upgrades, planned through 2009, will be based on the Adobe(R) AIR(TM) runtime technology, designed to allow developers to build RIAs run across multiple OS platforms. Increasingly FileGenius(TM) will blur the lines between web applications and local applications running on the Mac OS X or Windows platform.
Since the beginning, FileGenius(TM) has offered the best security in its price class, superior value through its "no limits" policy on users, workspaces, bandwidth, and transactions, innovative pricing with no options required -- everyone gets the premium package -- and what their customers call the best support and customer service in the industry.
