Heartache, Shame and Financial Ruin

The D'Arigo girls have a hard time trying to understand why the house where they spent their childhood is up for auction and they will have to move.

Meanwhile, Michele and Joe D'Arigo's marriage of 20 years is crumbling. Joe's work hours have been cut, and Michele hasn't been able to land a job. Because they've refinanced several times, they now owe more than the house is worth.

Turn to Page 9 for the second in a three-part series that looks at the personal toll of the nation's foreclosure crisis and tells you how you might avoid losing your home.
