Nursing Home in Rape Probe

A PENSIONER was allegedly raped by a visitor to the Liverpool nursing home where she lives.
Bupa, which runs the home, said it was helping police with their inquiries and stressed the welfare and safety of residents was its top priority.
T he attack was reported to have taken place on August 4 but details have only just been revealed.
A 63-year-old man who was visiting the home was questioned along with a 64-year-oldwoman.
A Merseyside police spokesman said: "A 63-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping the resident and released on bail pending further inquiries.
"A 64-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has also been released on police bail pending further inquiries."
Tracey Fletcher, regional director for Bupa Care Homes said: "The welfare and safety of our residents is our top priority.
"We employ dedicated, welltrained staff, to provide 24-hour care in a professional and respectfulway.
"We are assisting the police and regulatory bodies in their investigations and providing ongoing support to the resident involved."
