AT&T Triples Size of 3G Wireless Footprint in Buffalo-Niagara Area

These are just a few of the things you can do with AT&T’s third-generation (3G) wireless service. Today, AT&T Inc. announced the expansion of the company’s third-generation (3G) high speed wireless network to Niagara County as well as further south into Erie County, giving more consumers and businesses in the greater Buffalo area mobile broadband-like speeds and access to the latest interactive voice, video and data applications. AT&T operates the nation’s fastest 3G network, according to data compiled by leading independent wireless research firms.

With this recent network investment, AT&T’s high speed 3G network now delivers mobile broadband capability and enhanced in-building coverage to customers in Niagara Falls, Lewiston, Ransomville, Wilson, Olcott, Newfane, Lockport, South Lockport, Rapids, North Tonawanda, Youngstown and Pendleton within Niagara County as well as Hamburg, North Boston, Elma Center, East Elma, Lake View, East Aurora, South Wales, Akron, South Newstead, Alden Center, Town Line and Marilla in Erie County. These new enhancements complement AT&T’s existing 3G coverage in of the city of Buffalo as well as in Amherst, Blasdell, Cheektowaga, Clarence, Williamsville, Depew, Kenmore, Lackawanna, Tonawanda, West Seneca, Orchard Park and Lancaster.

In addition, AT&T has added new cell sites in the Gates Circle area as well as in Derby, Elma Tonawanda and West Seneca.

AT&T 3G network is now available in 320 U.S. major metropolitan areas. The company will deliver 3G service to nearly 350 leading U.S. markets by the end of 2008.
