Contingent Awarded Three-Year Contract to Manage Thomas & King Restaurant WAN Throughout North America

September 18, 2008

Thomas & King has awarded Contingent Network Services (www.contingent.net) the contract to deploy Contingent’s EverWorX Managed Wide Area Network Service to consolidate, speed and simplify store management systems for 97 Applebee’s and other restaurants across the country. The contract has an estimated value of $1 million.

A virtual private broadband network will link all 97 Thomas & King locations by the end of 2008. Thomas & King initiated the deployment to enable faster credit card processing, remote network monitoring, energy management and high-speed Internet access across all its locations.

EverWorX enables organizations to streamline communications and maximize productivity. The service can provide for 100 percent coverage with a comprehensive, scalable and worry-free package that combines all elements of design, deployment and support for a single or multi-site voice and data network with “no capital investment.” EverWorX is a best-in-class, turn-key solution that can be fully customized to fill gaps or outsource entire network operations. Most importantly, EverWorX provides a 100 percent Uptime Service Guarantee that protects clients from service interruption, regardless of the underlying carriers. If service is interrupted, the client does not pay.

“Contingent proved to be flexible in their approach, allowing Thomas & King the ideal design and deployment strategy needed for our wide area network needs,” said Cynthia Clark, information technology director, Thomas & King.

With EverWorX, once a network and applications are operational, there typically is a brief “burn-in” period, and then the network is commissioned. If a site goes down, Contingent is typically the first to be notified, and will have already begun recovery activities to bring the affected site back online. If the site is down, the client does not pay for telecom service during the outage. Contingent can address problems onsite in as little as two hours for a critically down circuit, provides clients with full visibility through proprietary Web-based network monitoring tools, and enables access to its Technical Assistance Center 24x7x365.
