NTT Communications to Launch New Internet Gateway Service

Posted on: Thursday, 18 September 2008, 15:00 CDT

Japan-based NTT Communications plans to launch a new internet gateway service, Secure ICT over VPN, on October 1, 2008. The new service can be accessed through the company's virtual private network services such as e-VLAN, Arcstar IP-VPN and Group-VPN.

The new service is claimed to combine a software-as-a-service-base internet gateway and an integrated virtual private network in a single package with one-stop support. According to the company, corporate customers will be able to use the gateway as a unified platform for managing security policies, such as firewalls, web proxy and logging in. Business continuity plans will be supported with multi-home internet transit and complete server redundancy.

Optional features will include e-mail hosting, virus checking, spam filtering, web proxy and URL filtering. Monthly fees will start from JPY98,000. NTT Communications has also announced that it will launch an e-mail hosting service, Secure Mail over VPN, to enable customers to outsource their e-mail environments for JPY63,000 per month.
