Kotura Appoints Dr. Gerald Fine to Board of Directors

Kotura, Inc., a leading provider of Silicon Photonic products, today announced that it has appointed Dr. Gerald J Fine, President and CEO of SCHOTT North America, Inc., to its Board of Directors.

“Kotura’s strategy of using silicon photonics for optical interconnects will enable more efficient transceiver designs, allowing network centers around the world to reduce their power consumption and save energy,” Dr. Fine said. “I am delighted to participate in the company as a member of the Board.”

Dr. Fine is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of SCHOTT North America, Inc. and has previously held various technical and management positions at Corning. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Amherst College and a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Fine has been awarded nine U.S. patents and is the author of numerous articles in both technical and trade journals.
