Facebook Face-Lift Rankles Some
The U.S. social networking site Facebook is in the process of switching its millions of users to a new design, a move that doesn't make everyone happy.
Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg says the changes are for the better but might alienate some of its more than 100 million active users, USA Today reported Monday.
"It's difficult to read and I don't like the tabs that you have to go through to see the whole profile. I hate it," public relations specialist Jenny Smelyanets, 22, of Palo Alto, Calif., told USA Today.
Facebook's face-lift began in February when the site launched a preview page to solicit user feedback. By late July, users had the ability to switch to the new design, says Mark Slee, a product manager at Facebook.
The company plans to finish the job of switching everyone to the new design by the end of September, USA Today said.
